The hard part is to meet other people online.
The IMDb Message Boards, which was discontinued in like 2017 and started I think in 1990, was probably the most popular way to locate other people. There seems to be nothing else, unless another franchise opens and has social networking via a message board or "what have you."
First, I think we have to give credit to Blogger.
MySpace and Facebook were popular I think in the earlier mid 2000s.
Twitter I think soon followed.
Older adults are getting online finally, often with Facebook, for the common man. Most people have told me it seems they have not enough time for things like BlogSpot or some other blog. I've tried WordPress, too, but it doesn't have the same format as BlogSpot for people like me who post more. However, more people will react to your writing there. I aim to have a WordPress, as well, again, in addition to Blogger. Right after I post this!
I don't really like all the chat apps and texting. I loved IM and wanted to do webcam when I was young and pretty, but no. I couldn't use IM because not many people responded.
I used e-mail, but I didn't think to start a blog, which would have been more ideal then, as I wrote the same thing over and over to all the people who talked to me, though not many. I wrote letters, too.
A lot of people who seem to have nothing to lose want to webcam it seems these days and get mad and try to make you feel like a bad person if you don't. The thing is I want to post online via writing paragraphs. I already waste tons of time posting on lousy message boards, actually just 1 now. I mean, it takes forever to get someone to talk and it's not new people to interest them there more, too.
I feel like I've wasted my life like all I learned was nothing online via posting on IMDb etc. People find out and realize what I've done and what to expect. Like, maybe it's because I didn't realize I wanted to play violin all the time, something as simple as that. What about all my writing online? I could've done that on the side, if I knew what else to do to be happy, like acting/modeling classes or getting back to majoring in music like when I started. I also like dancing but feel I'd have to be compensated to the nitty gritty, since I haven't done enough of it and it's a lot of work.
It seems like the world is lost because MySpace is not popular anymore and the format isn't even the same. I guess Early Generation X and the babies of Generation X buried their past and have other things in their environment socially. They still have friends, too, and meet new people probably but not enough I'm guessing.
I know adults like to text, but that looks like it's usually immature. They may go on Facebook, but many do not have a Twitter account.
